Handmade Jewelry

We were at the Night of Art last month.  It's a charity benefit for the International Women's Club of Moldova.  People pay to get in and artists pay to exhibit and sell.  There are also local business sponsors.  I, naturally, gravitated to the textile exhibitors.  This bracelet is my gift for my Mom for Mother's Day.  It's hand tatted and has Swarovski crystals embedded in the tatting.  Below is a pair of crocheted earrings I bought for myself.  No "real" art caught our eyes, so we didn't come home with any paintings or sculptures.

Little Monastery On The Hill

Tipova's chapel is very pretty, and the grounds around it were showing off when we visited last month.  As mentioned before, we did not go inside as there was a wedding going on.

Temari For Cathy

This temari was mailed out to Cathy L last week as a prize for the March challenge on the CQI group.  The temari is a double kiku with interlocking diamonds at the obi.  I think it came out pretty well, and I hope she likes it when it gets to her!

Wedding Car

We didn't go into the church at Tipova because there was a wedding going on while we were there.  The Moldovans have a habit of decorating the car that will take the couple from the church to the reception (usually a multi-day party at one of the families' houses).  This is how they did it that day.

A Block For Beryl

I was the last person to work on Beryl's wine block.  Even though the space was awkward, I managed to put on a wine quote.  All of the wine blocks I did ended up with words on them.  I also added bits off lace and beading.  It's off to her now, and I hope she likes it when she gets it.  The end result is shown below.

Hungry Horse

This top picture is of part of a village in Transnistria, over the river from where we were in Tipova.  The rest .... a horse was licking our car while we were wandering around.  She licked the whole front area, some of the window, and was being a real pest when we were wanting to leave.  Me being me, I went up to her and pet her.  She immediately begged for food, so we found some dried exotic fruits in the car.  We fed her the dried pineapple, but not the papaya.  I wanted to take the horse home.  Andreas thought it was a bad idea.

Not Quite

I am not quite willing to call this halfway done yet.  On the other hand, it's getting pretty close.
