Peles Manor House

The next few sets of photos are from the manor house hidden behind the trees close to the palace.  It's a national historic site and was built to house Ferdinand and Marie and their family while he was still crown prince.  The place is a beautiful example of late 19th century decoration.

Winging It

I am now getting more done on the right wing.  It's pretty close to the edge of the piece.  I feel like I'm getting several rows done at once because of the pattern of this piece.  It doesn't look it, but the stitches are pretty blocky.

Pretty Poppy

While taking photos of the sunflower fields, we saw the poppy and cornflower at our feet.  They were beautiful.

Off To See The Peles

Peles castle is in Sinaia, Romania.  We visited it as a day trip while we were in Brasov.  It was crowded and beautiful and had a pretty forest surrounding it on the side of a mountain.  These are some photos of the approaches.  There are actually two "castles" here.  One is more a manor house; it is more modern and was built around 1890 for the heir and his family.

Sunflowers In July

While still in Moldova we found these beautiful sunflower fields near Leuseni.  They were so gorgeous in the midday light that we had to stop and take photos, even though we were already late on the way to Brasov.

Crossing In

I'm on the last of these few squares before getting on to the next step.  It's taking shape nicely.

On The Way Back

We took a different way back to Brasov from Rasnov.  It was past the ski slopes and had these beautiful vistas.  And a bicyclist showing off.
