Catty Corner

Evidently Andreas had a hard time fitting both areas I was working on this week into the photo.  This was his solution.  I have one corner complete and another well on its way.  I feel so good about making progress on this!

Sultan Mehmet In Brasov

We found a Turkish restaurant in Brasov.  It was far from the tourist areas and on a residential street.  We thought we were lost.  It was there, though, and we went inside.  Sultan Mehmet isn't a large restaurant, and the locals who go there are of Turkish origin.  I don't know much about Turkish food, but it sure was good - well, except the lemonade.  They don't believe in sweetening it.  Anyway, we walked away stuffed and with a very positive experience.  It was worth going out of the way to find it.

Looks Like An Armory

It seems the powers that be that run Peles Castle took all the weapons lying around and put them in the same room....

Hill Top

I am making a hill now for the cute sheep to stand on.

Bits Of Stone

I've been working on the border squares and some of the gargoyle on the right.

The Road Back

A couple of photos of the beautiful mountains between Sinaia and Brasov, taken on the way back from Sinaia.  They're breathtaking in person.

On To The Big House

We ended up going on the Romanian language guided tour of the big castle because it was going to be another hour until the next English language one.  And it was raining.  We had a group of Orthodox priests in the (large) pile of people, and they were surprised by our desire to go with the Romanian stuff.  In the end it didn't matter because we couldn't even hear the guide because there were 60 people in the group.  We learned more listening to the monks talk to each other.  Any way.... outside then inside Peles Castle, big version.  Nothing looking comfortable here!
