Cold Weather Bling

These photos are from last Christmas.  It was very cold the night we took them, but it was clear and beautiful.  Most of Chisinau's lights are donated from Romania.  That's part of the reason for the mishmash.  It was gorgeous to walk through and see, though.

From None To Three

Yes, I only have two passports, but I now have three leather passport covers.  These two are so pretty I couldn't resist.  Maybe I'm starting a collection?  Is this a new fashion statement I'm making?  Passport covers to match purses?

Feeling The Progress

I am finally beginning to feel like there's real progress on this piece.  It's to the point where I can see most of the top gargoyles and will be working on their tails soon.  It could just be that I was in a better mood when last I worked on it.

Soroca Park

This small park is located in downtown Soroca near the river.  It's about a block large and every walkway leads to the fountain.  The sculptures are kind of Soviet weird, but it is a former Soviet town....

Owly

I found this jewelry set at the medieval festival in Vatra.  I think they look cute.

Going On The Fifth

I am so very behind on my stitching.  I have very little done outside of the Tuscany piece each week and the time I spend away from the house has only increased.  Since Sunday, we have gone to a barbecue and two dinners out.  Tonight is another dinner out.  I need some time at home!

Soroca Lumiere

This monument is a Soviet era one that has been repurposed into a religious chapel.  You can see the tower from both sides of the Dniester river and most of the city of Soroca.  You can get to it in one of two ways: the usual one of climbing a few hundred uneven and ill repaired concrete stairs or the less used driving up the back of the hill.  Guess which we took.  We managed to go on a beautiful day and to see the countryside, including livestock, on both sides of the river.
