Beginning To Flake

Christmas is coming up, so I've started making some things for presents.  This is the beginning of a cross stitched snowflake to make into an ornament.  Not going to have any snow here in Angolan summer....

Tailed

The tail on the dragon's done, and now I'm off to part of the body.

Lunch At Pappas Burgers

We had lunch with my mom and brother at Pappas Burger.  The burgers are good - Andreas had a chicken one and I had a chili cheeseburger - and the fried pickles are great, too, but the real reason to go is the Jack Frost.  What could go wrong with a Jack and coke slushie?  It was wonderful.

Centered

I am now pretty confident the middle stitching is centered.  I am not at all sure why the color is so off on this particular photo.  Anyway, it's become my daily project and should be done soon.

October Done Early

I finished this piece while I was on the plane to Angola.  As the trip was thirteen and a half hours long, I had plenty of time to work on it.  This makes ten of the twelve done.  Yay!

Greek And Wine

Because of the small house we rented and the allergies of Andreas' parents, we couldn't host them at home to let them enjoy Moldovan wines.  Luckily, we found Cafe Medi in Hurst, which let us bring our own wines - and opened them for us.  Between the five us (my mom was there too), we had most of three bottles of wine.  The food was good too, but not as good as El Greco in Chisinau.  My favorite of the three wines was the Vinohora.  I love that wine.  But it's all in transit now in our household effects.

A Normal Start

Since I finished something, I get to start something.  This is the beginning of a Lizzie Kate design that says "Normal is just a setting on the washing machine."  Somehow, I think I'll need that here.
