Ho Hum At Mi Piace

 If presentation was all there was to food, Mi Piace would rank among the best in Moldova.  Taste is important too, though, and I find Mi Piace's taste to be flat and uninspired.  The photos here are from several people's meals, and you can see how beautiful the food looks.  If only....

Missiles and Museum

 Saturday at the air show was wet and dreary, so we pretty much stayed indoors.  Our plan to explore the Air Museum was squashed, however, when someone set off the fire alarm.  So these are all the air show photos I'm sharing from Saturday.

Love The Colors

I love the colors of these yarns, especially the ones on the left.  They're being turned into a shawl and a hat when I get the time.  Both were bought locally at Gemeni.

Tucano Coffee

 I was out early for some reason in mid-August and decided to stop in at Tucano while I waited for a store to open.  Tucano is the Starbucks of Moldova.  The eclair was very pretty and tasted good; the coffee was excellent and huge.  Both together cost less than the coffee alone at a real Starbucks.

Tools Of The Trade

 Everyone from Mexico  to Malaysia was represented in the pavilions - except the US.  There wasn't a real US presence at the show.  Part of it was the sequester, but private companies also closed up shop before the public days.  The US had a pavilion all its own.  Boeing and McDonnell Douglas and other contractors had their own small buildings.  They were all shut up tight and taken down before the first member of the public walked through the gate.  It wasn't a good way to represent or promote the US at all in a very important market.  I, for one, was very disappointed.

As for the rest of this, the tools are used in aerospace and aeronautics to put everything together.

Clasping

This brass clasp is a reproduction of one from the 13th century found in Poland.  I think it'll work wonderfully on my cloak.
