First Day in italy

We knew we would not be able to check in to our agrotourismo when we got there if we didn't stop someplace on the way across Italy. We found Melfi, a small town south of the highway with a medieval castle. The town has put up cute little statues around, but parking is difficult. This is the castle's outside fortifications on the upper side.

 

Lunch Type Food

More market food - dolmas, baked cheese, sardines, and souvlaki. All good except the sardines,

Are They Swans?

I am not sure if the figures next to the fingers are swans or flowers or just flourishes.

 

Flowers From Leonora

Leonora got me these beautiful lisianthus after I got out of the hospital last month.

 

Cyclamen and Oaks

On our way out of Caserta, we came across this rectangle of oaks and little cyclamen in the forest.

 

Cretan Food

One of the stops on the market tour was this tiny Cretan restaurant. It was good, and yes, I do like snails.
