Steampunk for Kathy

I love the way Kathi pieced this block.  It looks so industrial and Modrian and steampunky!  It also reminds me of a Victorian curiosity box, so I took that angle with my embellishments, below.  I had to stop to leave room for others.

More of Patricia

I love original doors.  I thought this one was especially nice, since it's an elevator too.
Copper-clad vats.  Lovely to look at, but they don't use them anymore.

Done with the Hardest of Four

I was sent four squares to complete before getting the next parts, and the one with the most stitching was the first - which is now done (Yay!).  Now to get on with the other three, which will end with the third corner of the design being completed!

Getting a Space Done

I am almost done with the area in the middle between third and fourth windows.  It's all in peaches, and I even managed to do a bit on the bottom, too.

Visiting the Brewery

Saturday before last, we took a group trip out to Minas and visited the biggest brewery in the country.  It's been in business for 75 years, and in the last decade was bought out by InBev, the company that now owns Anheuser-Busch.  They have another brewery in town,  but what's the fun of visiting something close?
They still have a lot of their copper-clad equipment, though it's not in use.
Seeing their lab made me realize how much I miss being in one.

A chiller, vintage 1930's.

Views from the upper floor of the brewery.  You can see everything from the water treatment ponds (which smell awful) to the mountains in the distance.

Close

I am so close to getting the first (of four) peacock feather fan done!  Then I get to start the big part of the garden.

A Bit Wined

This has graduated into my rotation from the fifteen starts.  It's going pretty quickly, too!
