Ornamental Finish

I completed the ornament I talked about starting yesterday. It didn't take more than a couple of hours to do - a really quick stitch. My husband claims I like tone on tone stuff too much. I think he says that because it's hard to photograph. I think it came out really well and will finish it up into a small pillow ornament some time this weekend. Since the ornament pattern was a freebie and it was stitched from stash, this counts as my twentieth finish on my project challenge. Only five more to go!

Latest Crazy Quilt Ornament - Done

This is the piece I was disappointed with last week. I just kept embellishing and it ended up looking okay. Not spectacular, but nothing to be ashamed of, either. The front is a lot more laden than the back, but then - it should be. There's a pucker in the seam where I put it together on the lower left - I'll be fixing that before I put it on the tree. The lesson I learned was not to judge things too harshly before they're done. Now to apply it! This also counts as the nineteenth project on my twenty-five project challenge, since I did it completely from my stash.

Joyeux Noel

Yay! It's finished stitching! My husband has decided to be creative and wants to put this into a heart shaped frame. I really like the way this turned out and, because it was stitched from my stash, it even counts toward my project challenge. I hope to get one, perhaps two, more Christmas designs done before Christmas. If you want details on how you can do this pattern, go back to my previous post on it and you can get the link!

Another Ornament Done

I finished this one yesterday, and it's probably my last finish of the week. I got it all beaded and sewed it up. Even though every single fabric is the same as those used in the first one, it came out totally different due to the embellishing process. It counts as number eighteen on my project challenge. At this rate, I might even finish the challenge before the new year. W00t! This one's going for an exchange for Cyberstitchers. I hope whoever it ends up with likes it.

Putting My Heart Into It

The upper picture is the stitching, finished last night. The lower picture is where it was on Friday. I done good, getting yet another project done! The fabric was dyed by me and the pattern was a freebie from The Gift of Stitching magazine called "French Inspired Heart". Originally, I was going to make it into an ornament, but my husband - who's evidently desperate to frame something - told me he has some redwood already milled down that he wants to use on this. So, it's getting framed. I like that it was quick and easy to do and it let me play around yet again with variegated threads. The floss on this is one of the DMC variations. Oh, and it even counts as a project finish, bringing me to seventeen.

All Beaded Up

Here's the picture of Arabesque all beaded up. I think the beads add a LOT to the overall design and just make it pop. My husband has already started stretching it to put on the box top. It also counts as the sixteenth project on my project challenge.

Fishy Finished

The sealife fish that I started last week is done! Yay, one more thing out the door. It's good because I'm behind on these round robins due to the chickens-who-are-no-more. I'll start today or tomorrow on one of the three calendar ones I have to do ... and if I finish them before anything else hits my door, I'll be all caught up. This one even counts toward my project challenge, meaning I'm 60% done with my 25 project challenge. Christen this one fifteen.

Another Ornament Complete

I got my first crazy quilt ornament done today! I'm feeling proud of myself because I'm mailing it out to an ornament exchange EARLY. Go me! This is the first of six I've started - the foundations are pieced on all the others. The exchange is made up of cross stitchers, so I hope this person likes getting something completely different. My husband took a picture of the back, too, so here it is. I think I need to add more decoration to the back on the next one. Oh, and it counts as number 14 of my project challenge!

An Ornament Finish

You haven't seen this before because I started and finished the ornament all this week. See my next post as to why I had to abandon the red and white one. This was from the 2007 Just Cross Stitch ornament issue, and from a design company called Loopy Lou. I hadn't seen any of her designs before this. Being me, I changed the floss and the beads. I'll hopefully be mounting it into a real ornament today. It even counts toward my project challenge, being number thirteen!

Frogs Finished

Well, yesterday I said I'd finish these, and I did. My husband's already working on framing them. I think the backstitching helped a LOT and they came out really cute. My son still has no clue it's for him. This makes my eleventh finish for my 25 project challenge and my first non-round robin finish all month. I've been a slacker.

Huswif Finished

I added the beads around the edge today, so I can call this -officially- finished. I think the beads look good for this. It counts toward my project challenge and now I am done, done, done with that designer.

Seashell Done

The picture on the bottom shows this seashell last Friday night. The one on top is last night. I'll be mailing it out today. It's another one on my sealife round robin, for Nicola in Australia. She wants to have all these motifs stitched on separate pieces of fabric and then make them into pillows for a charity. It was another piece on Aida, and my fingers paid for it! Since Aida is so stiff, I tend to use the stab stick method of stitching, which means I slow down and I end up sticking my fingers often. Even with a blunt tapestry needle, it hurts! This piece also counts toward my project challenge.

Another Finish

I don't knit well and I have very little patience for it, so this picture is of my one scarf that took nearly a year to do. It's a gift for one of my husband's coworkers. I don't think I'll be knitting again for a while, even though this came out pretty well. It counts toward my project challenge, though!

Pigged Out

The pig's done. I'm beginning to think I'm in a group of round robin stitchers whose taste is completely different from mine. This is such a different experience from what I had with the French one. Anyway, it's getting mailed out today, only a week past the due date... and I have three others in my possession to do. I'll catch up one day, really! This also makes finish five of my project challenge.

A Quick Finish

Well, this is another one of the sealife round robins. It's Janien from Brazil's. I did the seahorse on the left today. Needed something quick and this fit the bill AND got a bit of responsibility out of the way. I'll be mailing it out on Monday. This makes number four of the twenty-five project challenge. And if you want to know where the pattern came from, it's from Mains & Merveilles Point de Croix #61 and the thread is Gentiane from L'atelier du pic vert. I like the color.

Round Robin Complete

Last night, I finally finished my part of this round robin. It took a lot longer than I thought it should, but it's done. Now I have four others in queue to do! I'll be able to get them started now that this one's done. It's getting sent to India today. This also counts as my third project of my 25 project challenge, which is a good thing.

Birds Flying Away

I managed to finish the calendar round robin I've been working on for a few days this week. I'll be mailing it out on Monday before I leave for Paris. I've got a couple of other things to mail. This makes number two on my twenty-five project challenge. I've been -really good- this week about not buying stash. Maybe I'll get back on track. I'm not sure my suitcases can hold any more.

Silk and Metal Done, Done, Done!

It's done! I managed to complete this Group Correspondence Course on time. I'll be sending it to Rissa next week. Everyone here loves it. I see some flaws, but I learned a lot. The lower picture was taken yesterday evening before I finished. I just got up this morning and worked on it until about noon. Today's been a rainy day in Normandy, so it was a good day to stay home. This makes finish number five of my 25 project challenge. I'm so happy it's complete! I'd been feeling (again) like I'd not been making much progress.

Needlework Round Robin Done

I finished the sewing bird for this round robin yesterday. Only one more piece to work on and I'll have done all six! This one came out good. One person still needs to stitch on it, and I will be mailing it to her tomorrow. This also makes number ten of my project challenge (yay!) and so it's two completions in one.

Needlepoint Finish

Got this finished this week. I'm going to put it into a luggage tag as a gift when I get the tag. It's the ninth of ten finishes on my project challenge. Only one more to go!
