Buttons!

Ana found this button maker here in town and got together a group buy for us.  I put in a hundred pesos (about $5) and got all these cute laser-cut buttons.  They are supposedly out of some kind of exotic wood, but I don't know what.  They'll be used for crazy quilting soon.

Muumuus, Leggings, and Animal Prints....

Today's selection of parade pictures ... tomorrow evening we go to the inaugural parade which kicks off the "official" Carnaval fetivities!

Baumchen Done!

I finished Baumchen earlier this month.  I think it came out pretty well, and am going to ask Betsy to make it into a bag for me.

Second Square Done!

Yay!  I finished the second square!  Only a bit less than two more to go.

Fanning Out

More of the "peacock feathers" are done.  Time to start working on the last of them.

Some Kids Dance Too!

More dancers and flags!

Getting very close to finishing the first of two and a half pages.  I still say it's a salamander and not a dragon...

Crazy January #15 - Shaded Blackwork Fleur de Lys

Here is the last of my January starts.  It's a blackwork piece and is worked in floche, which is a new thread for me.  I got one part done, though!

Still Colliding

Still getting more done on this; it's just got some outside on two sides to do!

Crazy January #14 - Animals Rule

This is the insert for a foot long ruler.  I've already made a couple of inches of progress!  Maybe I'll get it done soon.  And yes, I do have the ruler for it.

Dancing in the Street

Lots of dancers in this set.  I'd show you other Carnaval pictures, but Andreas has not given me any of the ones from the Promesas performance we went to.

Still More Parade Pictures

This guy is famous here for being a Carnaval dancer and choreographer.

Crazy January #13- Passiflora Trellis

When I first saw this in New Stitches, I loved it and ordered the kit.  Now I've finally started it.

All Silvered Out

I finished the Silvery Tree ornament!  The actual finishing into an ornament was very easy - one advantage of perforated paper.  This also makes my first finish for the up 4 a challenge stitchalong, where you finish fifteen projects you've been working on before the beginning of 2011.
