Yes, that's a guy on top. There are some male dancers. And some dress up like women for comic effect. There are a few in this set of pics!

Yet More Red
Well, I'm done with the first page. That means I have a page and a half to go. It's definitely progress! I've got more red done, and hope to maybe get some black in next time.

Needlecase for Susanne aus LU
Here is the needlecase I sent to Susanne in the Sticklounge exchange. Mine's a bit bigger than usual and crazy quilted. It was from a block I received on a Christmas cracker a couple of years ago that I embellished more, then added felt and finished it.

Hometown Carnaval
One thing to emphasize about Carnaval in Uruguay is that it's very much a local event. It's not like Brazil, with its outright commercialism and tourist appeal. It's like school plays and 4th of July parades - a community event that draws on local resources. These particular Inaugural Parade photos emphasize that.

Lunar New Year Temari
Every year, Talk Temari does a Lunar New Year exchange. I participated this year and sent this ball to Tina. It's done in the traditional colors of green, gold, red and white. These are not my usual comfort zone colors, and I put it on a C8, which I finally marked correctly (yay!) and did a stitch new to me, too. Tina received it on Friday, so I can post it now.
Jewels on Black Home
I sent these blocks out in September, and last week they came back to me. I'd like to thank Wendy, Rita, Darlene, Debbie and Janet, who did such a wonderful job embroidering them! I get to do one myself, too, before I turn them into something. Thank you so much, I love them!
