Another La Pasiva

The La Pasiva in Montevideo Shopping is much better than the one in Punta Carretas Shopping.  These two items were from lunch at Montevideo shopping.  The pizza is the Uruguayan equivalent of a thick crust.  It's called a pizzeta.  On bottom is a tableta, one of Andreas' favorite things. Basically, a tableta is a meat and cheese tray with olives.

Ribbons!

Betsy found a beautiful bag of remnant ribbons at Hancocks.  I'm the grateful recipient of the bounty!  Now I get to add them onto my things.  I'm already plotting uses.

Bottoms Up

Got the bottom of part two done on this.  Each part has a lot of stitching, so it takes a while.

Terracotta

Since we have only seven more weeks in Uruguay, we've been going out and doing more lately.  These are some pictures of a recent dinner at Terracotta on Colonel Mora.  The food is very good and less expensive than other places of the same caliber.  This was my chicken.  Isn't that a novel way to present sweet potatoes?  Andreas' dish is below, then another picture of mine.

Switch to Red

This week was another switch to red.  I got a couple more lines done!

Thanks Mouse!

I received this wonderful chart, some fabric, and some other things from Mouse last week.  Aren't they beautiful?  She even made a great handmade card to go with it!  This is part of the Friendly Stitchers' group Calendar Girls exchange.  Thanks so much, Mouse!  I love it!

Dinner at La Pasiva

La Pasiva is a local chain that is approximately the Uruguayo equivalent of Cracker Barrel, without the extra store on front and with beer and wine.  It serves "traditional" food for the area.  We went to eat there a couple of weeks ago because we'd forgotten how bad it can be, especially the Punta Carretas location.  Here are pictures of what we got.  Andreas had a pasta thing and I had a milanesa sandwich.  Milanesas are basically chicken fried steaks.  My sandwich was dry, as the usually are here: they put nothing on their milanesas and everything on their hamburgers, at least when they're on buns.  Anyway, I have no clue about the peas on Andreas' dish.  It's local, I guess.  Anyway, not all meals in Uruguay are worth the price!
