No Building

I am disappointed in myself this week.  I didn't manage to complete another house.  Two are getting close, but nope, not finished.

Quel Talent!

Magela made and gave to me these wonderful gifts!  She did the woodburning and painting both.  Aren't they great?  I'll treasure them always.  Thank you Magela.

Inside the Firehouse

All the following are from inside the firehouse.  As you can see, it's huge.  The building takes up a full city block.  Some are of the courtyard, some are of the museum.  The mate's there to show it's in Uruguay.

To Remember...

Sussy, Magela and Adriana got together and bought these books for Andreas and me.  They're both chock full of photos and will help is remember all the parts of this country.  Thank you so much!

Flagging

This piece is one of my Crazy January 15 and is my current purse project.  I got a little bit done on it while waiting for shawarma last week.  Other than that, it's not gotten any love.  Maybe it will if I have to wait in an airport next week.  Actually, it will definitely get worked on if a plane's delayed.

Plaza and Bomberos

A couple more pictures of the Plaza of the 33, then on to the main fire station.  The building itself holds all the administration for the fire department for the country, several firefighter families, a museum, the HAZMAT team, and a couple of regular companies of firefighters.
When we walked to the front of the building, there was a firefighter guarding the place.  We asked if we could go in to see the huge central courtyard, and the next thing we knew, we were getting a guided tour from one of the commanders.  Very cool experience.

A Bargello Finish!

Yay! A finish just before I move!  All the stitching's done, but the piece won't take its final form until I'm in Moldova.  Andreas wants it to be a dice bag, so it probably will be that.  It's always been meant to be a bag, but I had no clue what to store in it.  I love working with these Tentakulum silks.  They're hard to find in the US, but if you see some, pick them up.
