Finally

At last, page one is done.  Only eight more to go.

All Dressed Up and Ready to Go

Uruguayan firefighting uniforms past and present for various situations from HAZMAT to forest fires.  And, below, the firetrucks to take them where needed.

Knives

As part of our leaving preparations, we visited Casa Turistica in Plaza Independencia.  Andreas bought more knives.  Our friend Leo told us about this place.  You have to ask for the knives to see them - they're behind the counter in an old box.  Anyway, two more personal knife and fork sets bought, one serving knife and fork, and one carving knife.

They're somewhat expensive, but unlike most knives in the country, they're hand forged - and about a tenth the price of the antique ones.

No Building

I am disappointed in myself this week.  I didn't manage to complete another house.  Two are getting close, but nope, not finished.

Quel Talent!

Magela made and gave to me these wonderful gifts!  She did the woodburning and painting both.  Aren't they great?  I'll treasure them always.  Thank you Magela.

Inside the Firehouse

All the following are from inside the firehouse.  As you can see, it's huge.  The building takes up a full city block.  Some are of the courtyard, some are of the museum.  The mate's there to show it's in Uruguay.

To Remember...

Sussy, Magela and Adriana got together and bought these books for Andreas and me.  They're both chock full of photos and will help is remember all the parts of this country.  Thank you so much!
