Our commissary order came in this week. Because we are a consumables post, we can order food from the Air force base in Germany's commissary as a group, and they bring it to us on a refrigerated truck. American things like Ben & Jerry's ice cream, turkeys, and hamburger buns are available only in this way. The problem? You have to order by the case. So we ended up with a full sized freezer going from completely empty to absolutely full in an hour. Of course, this stuff is supposed to last us a long time....

El Paso and Austin
Looks like the upper half of Texas is done. Now to get to the rest, and to get some background done. My husband's suggested the slogan "Life is too short to live in Dallas" around the outside.

The Actual Indy Race
Photos from the Indycar race on September 4th, 2011 - the Baltimore Grand Prix. You can tell the high shutter speed Andreas used when you see the (deliberately) blurry ones as comparison. Last of the Grand Prix pics, and can't go next year cause I'll b in Europe.

Another Round of Red
A few more rows of background done. I feel like I'm making progress only because I see the end of the lizard to work toward.

Old LeMans and The Car I Want
A racer from days gone by still in great shape, even if it is a Corvette.... and the car I'd buy if I had the money. Isn't this black Aston Martin beautiful? It'd be a bit easier to get here than in the States, but I just can't afford it. The roads here would tear it up, too. It couldn't even drive down the myriad potholes strung together that constitute the road I live on. I still want, though!
