More Neighborhood

These photos were taken from our car as we drove through our neighborhood.  With no sidewalks and rutted roads, it's somewhat dangerous to walk very far, especially with the dog.  From these pictures, you can see that we have goats and chickens and some farmland, along with public (working) wells and unpaved roads.  Makes for an interesting place to live, although I'm not looking forward to navigating the area after snowfall.

Triangles for Christmas

Another winter bazaar temari.  This one's about the same size as the renzoku one.  I think they make a nice pair.

Past Houston

Houston wasn't a problem - breezed right through it on my march down the coast.  What IS a problem is there isn't enough ribbon floss in the kit.  Ordered some, and I hope it gets here soon.

A Bit of Americana, Kind Of

What is more American than fast food at the mall?  Our local MallDova (great name, isn't it?) has a KFC, a McDonald's and a Sbarro pizza.  The chicken at the KFC tastes a bit different, but they nailed the cole slaw.

Ribbon Candy

This particular ball is also for the charity.  It was done in a renzoku design and in kyo-temari thread.  Bright, shiny Christmas ribbon candy!

Another Bought for Charity

This one, too, was destined for the winter bazaar and didn't make it.  It went home to one of the organizers for her charitable donation, and is now sitting atop a candlestick.  I truly have fallen in love with these big kikus on big balls.  Evidently, the people here have too.

The Neighborhood

One of my friends told me on Facebook that I needed to put up some pictures of the area, since she had of their new town, Tokyo.  So, I took Mattie for a walk about a week and a half ago and took these pictures.  They're not up to Andreas' standard, but they're what I can do.

As you can see, the neighborhood is rather, um, mixed in architecture and such.  The last picture in this series is the front door to our house, which is a very nice place.
