Early Christmas Present

Andreas has been finding me temari stuff on ebay, and he came across a seller who had some temari patterned origami paper.  She also sells these cute little stamps, custom made to whatever you want.  Mine is the figurative translation of my name.  Andreas gave it to me early so I can use it to stamp little scraps of paper and fabric to use as signatures on my temari.  Isn't it great?

Robin Red Breast

Sitting on nothing at the moment, but the robin's done.  This one is stitching up quickly.

Filling Out

A lot of little areas just look more full and complete to me this week.

Bazaar Buys

The Salvation Army of Moldova was selling these cute needlework pins at the Winter Bazaar at the beginning of the month.  All three cost me about five dollars.

Marine Ball November 2011

This year, Marine Balls got a lot more publicity than usual thanks to the video invitations of celebrities.  For those of you who don't know, the Marines celebrate their founding in 1775 every year by throwing a birthday party.  Every detachment worldwide throws a party.  Ours in Chisinau was held at the Leogrand Hotel Convention Center.  As you can see, the party is rather formal at first.  After dinner, though, it goes wild with dancing and drinking.  If you ever get a chance to go to one, do it!

De-tailed

Yay, the salamander's done and the background around it is stitched.  Big milestone.

Another Tree

More sky, more tree, more castle.  A typical stitching session on this.  Progress is at least visible now.
