Orthodox churches are full of iconic art, and this one was no exception. The chapel itself maybe measures fifteen feet square, generously. It's a simple square with no pews - Orthodox congregations stand through the whole up to three hour services. The art is handpainted in most places, and usually very stylized and elaborate.

At The Top
Here's the top of the fortress. As you can see, although it sits next to the Dniester (Nistru) River, it has a great view of the countryside.

Inside The Fortress
These photos are all of the inside of the fortress at Soroca. As you can see, it was a sunny summer day. I'd hate to have to be in this draft place in winter!
