Optical Illusion

It's rare that there's an optical illusion this large.  The house looks like only the front wall from one angle, but move over a few steps and you see that it's actually triangular.  It's neat, but I don't think I'd want to live in it!

Addicted?

My mother in law Betsy made this beautiful wall hanging quilt for me!  It's going to hang over my sewing machine once we get some large command strips.  Our walls are concrete, so putting nails or screws in them is difficult.  Isn't the quilt great?  She's embroidered several areas of the sewing room, and I think she believes I'm addicted to embroidery.  I probably am.  I love this and can't wait to display it!

Minute Progress

The bird, at least, seems to be coming alive.  The branch still looks pretty dead.

Wishing....

I am so wishing this were done.  I know it's close, as those bottom stitches are within three or four rows of the end, but it's not close enough!

Stitch Helpers

As part of my birthday present, Andreas' parents gave me this beautiful stitch counter and thread puller combination.  Thank you!  I'll definitely use it!

Three Statues

This tea garden fountain and the one just below are in a courtyard just behind the opera house.  Supposedly, the buildings that front this courtyard are the most expensive real estate in Odessa.  The third is the Katherine statue again.  Since Katherine signed Odessa's founding charter, residents tend to admire her.
