Tighina Museum

The former armory of the fortress has been turned into a small museum.  Our guide was a soldier in the Russian army, so I will let you guess about the neutrality of the story of the sieges we were told.  There were a few mannequins, a lot of uniforms, and some neat dioramas.  More pictures to come.

Bits Of Umbrella

I'm not sure if it's an umbrella or the top of a set of chimes, but whatever it is, it's getting progressed.

Inside Tighina Fortress Outside

Finally, we got inside the fortress, after walking halfway around it!  Here are some pictures of the inner courtyard and ring of buildings.  Most of the structures have been demolished or decayed over time.  Still pretty impressive, though!

White Space

With all the white space within the frame, this piece seems to be going so much faster.  It's not that I'm stitching it more; it's that I can complete each row with less stitching.

Buildings In Progress

The buildings on the bottom left are almost done.  Pretty much all that's left on them is roofing.  I'm beginning to feel good about having this bit done soon.

Filling In

I'm filling in the metallic part of the square.  It's getting to be closer to finished.

Egg for Liuba

This is the temari egg I made for Liuba.
