Step Block Home

I received my step block home and have to admit to some disappointment.  The light colored butterfly patch has absolutely no stitching on it despite being nearly a quarter of the block.  In fact, the block looks somewhat bare overall.  Looks like I'm going to add more embellishment.  I'm not disappointed with the actual work; I'm disappointed with the amount of work.  Maybe I should just stop sending blocks off to round robins.

When In Bayeux....

Embroider!  So I bought these kits from Bayeux Broderie while at the medieval festival.  They will start into my rotation very soon.  Two are traditional from the tapestry, and one is modern.

Last Of The Step Blocks

I was the last person to work on Shelley's step block.  The top picture is how I got it.  The bottom shows what I added.  There wasn't too much to add.  I basically put beads in some of the seams, added a charm (which is flipped over in the photo, and added some definition to the roses in the middle.  I hope Shelley's received it by now.

Something Different

Three different flavors of honey liquor in one "bottle".  It's actually three bottles stacked, but it looks neat and we taste tested the flavors before we bought.  Another medieval festival find.

Back And Forth

The peacock is getting a bit of blue on his back, and I've filled out more of the branch and background on the left.

Facing The Bird

I added some stitching to both the bird and the angel's face this time.  Also added a bit of fill to the wings.

Tiny Bits

I took this with to Odessa and got a bit more done.  Tiny bits add up, especially on a small project!
