Mojito To Milkshake
A small group of us spent an early August Friday evening at Griffin Pub, a newer restaurant here in Chisinau. It's certainly less chic-chic than the restaurant it replaced in the same location. The prices are also a third of the former one. The mojito tasted good, and the mushroom soup was not bland. Andreas' shopsky salad had fresh brinza on it, which he loves. People had things from pork tocana with mamalygia to mozzarella chicken to pork chops. All were pretty good, though not spectacular. Dessert included cappucino and a milkshake. John gave his meal a definite thumbs up!

Back To The Loft
Sometimes the embassy cafeteria's food is so bad you turn around and walk to the nearest restaurant. That's what precipitated this set of Loft photos. We had our usual appetizers, then switched it up. I had the chicken sandwich (not enough fillings for me; I'll stick with salads) and Andreas had pasta. He said the alfredo was very good. I'm not fond of such subtle creamy sauces myself. In any case, it was much better than mackerel served three different ways at the embassy.

Modeling Flight
I wonder what it would be like to be a professional modeler -trying to get all the details right and making tiny parts of big things. All these photos from the air show exhibit the creativity and dedication and skill these professional modelers have. It might become easier in the future with 3D printers, but for now, I'll just admire the work of unknown artists.
