Yuled
Yule is done, but not without some trouble. I -hate- when kits don't come with enough thread, and this one didn't. It was even the cheap one - DMC - that was low. Not cool. I had to wander around Frankfurt looking for the color, and it was hard to find. Very disappointed with Moonflower Designs for that. On the other hand, it's done and I can make it into a gift now.
Texas In Romania? Not Quite
Nearly two years after moving to Chisinau, we finally went to Romania. Granted, it wasn't far into Romania - only Iasi, but it was Romania. While there, we stayed at Little Texas. They really -do- try. There's American country music blaring; the rooms look like something from the 1950's in a ranch house; and the menu is .... well, you can see. Romanians do tend to try some of the Moldovan "if it looks like it, it must taste like it" mentality. The nachos were okay. The Texas toast? Wrong cheese, not enough garlic, but tasted okay. The soup was in a bread bowl, something I've not seen in Europe at all before. It was a nice, chunky mushroom soup. Lemonade was definitely made differently, but tasted like lemons. My mother would not be impressed, though.

Not My Crest
While in Krakow last week, we kept going back to the museum gift shop on the main square. It's full of handmade items and the shop staff are very friendly. One of the things we bought was this artistic interpretation of a Polish heraldic crest. It's copper on green velvet, and the way it looks is beautiful.
