Meh Thai

We found Restaurant Sternzeichen in the mall next to the Bahnhof Vien Mitte.  We had spent the whole day out and just wanted something to eat before getting back to the hotel.  The service was, to put it mildly, pretty bad.  Getting the waiter's attention was a chore, and he didn't think it his job to check on people, either.  This, with -maybe- three tables total with people in the restaurant.  The food was somewhat Moldovan in that the ruling credo seemed to be that if it looked right, it tasted right.  The hot was hot without being spicy and there was a lot of grease.  It was nothing like our lovely Thai food in Frankfurt.

Pretty Peacocks

Lately I have been unable to resist peacocks.  So, these thank you notes ended up as purchases at one of the Vienna markets...

All Fogiven

Yay, another finish!  I started this only a couple of months ago and am so happy it's done.  Now I need to make it into a pillow ornament to hang over our headboard.

Cakes!

We noticed a lot of beautiful bakeries in Krakow.  This one had lots of cakes, and they were really cute, so we took photos.

Kathy's Block Done

As I knew I'd be traveling, I had Chris send me this block in the US instead of in Moldova.  That way, I was able to work on it and send it on its way much more quickly.  It was a kind of problematic block for the theme country garden.  It's definitely more country than garden.  To that end, I added a scarecrow.  To balance out the colors and weight of the top, I added ribbons to one of the very patterned blocks.

Thank You Diana

Crazy Quilting International yahoo group had an exchange for Christmas.  This is what I got from Diana, my partner.  Thank you, Diana!  I'll be putting it to work soon.

Over Halfway

The tree is the middle, so I'm officially over halfway done with the embroidery!
