Pulled Thread Ornament

The pattern for this is a petite project from EGA.  I made it for the CyberStitchers' January meeting Little Extra.  It came out pretty well, I think.

Time To Talk Rocks

Pretty much half of the first floor of the Natural History Museum in Vienna holds a giant geological collection.  It's not nearly as well presented as it could be, but there are lots of pretty rocks!  Y'all get to see some over the next few days.

Working On The Wing

This is coming along, but slowly.  I am actually within twenty rows of the bottom of both top pages.

Man On Air

The man has everything but his hands now, and the birds are all stitched.  Now on to the little dog, too.

Checking Out A Reputation

My mother had heard a lot about Navajo Grill in Fredericksburg and wanted to check it out.  We went, therefore, getting reservations.  The food was pretentious but the service wasn't.  The service was still excellent.  Andreas had an appetizer that involved olives and pita.  I had a hard time finding more than one or two items on the menu that I would actually eat.  I know I'm a picky eater, but it's only at food-pretentious restaurants that I have this problem.

Andreas had these rolled up things.  I'm not sure what they were, but he liked them.  We had toasted bread.

Mom had scallops.  She loved them, which made it worth going.  I had steak in a balsamic reduction, which was good but not totally excellent.

In summary, the service was good, the food was a bit overpriced and froufrou, and the menu selection was limited.

Murano Glass

I got this earrings and necklace set in Vienna while we were there.  While I love the glass and will wear the necklace often, the earrings are a total waste.  They are so thick and heavy that they always look like they're falling out of my ears.

Brown Buildings

There's a -lot- of brown in this piece and I'm in the middle of a brown streak.  I can't complain too much, though, as I'm making progress on the -last side- of this mandala.  I've been stitching on this for as long as I've had this blog.
