Organic Forms

Despite these rocks being inorganic, it's surprising how many of them look like living landscapes, lichen, and other organic forms.  I think that's part of what drew me to them.

Crazy January Start Twenty-Eight - Fleur De Fleurs

I think this combination of thread and fabric looks pretty good.  It goes in the pile to get to soon.

Starting The Second Half

Scattered pink flowers now and a foray into the lower half of the design.  I think that's progress.

Warm Food, Icy Day

When we were in Fort Worth the first time, we did manage to go out and do some shopping with Mom before getting totally iced in.  At the end of shopping, we had lunch at Olive Garden by Ridgmar.  The food and service were both good, and I didn't order too much - their lunch sandwich and salad was perfect.  The cinnamon pear martini was an experiment I think I'll skip next time.

Crazy January Start 27 - Interlocking Squares Temari

This is a teaching temari for my friends in Bacioi.  It's the second pattern I'm teaching them, and I had to make a sample.  Here it is - a simple interlocking squares pattern with squares at the poles to make "hearts" for Martisor.

Love The Colors

Yes, I am weird, but I find inspiration in odd places.  One thing I noticed with all these rocks was the color in each.  Some were all metallic and shiny and some were matte and deep looking.  A lot were plain dull.  I didn't take photos of those last.  The colors inspire me to choose bolder, different combinations when I put things together.  Maybe, at some point, I'll even pull the colors from one rock and make a design.

Line By Line

Another couple of lines done, several more to go.....
