National Wine Day

You've got to love a country that makes a national holiday for wine.  That's what Moldova does every October.  Many wine and brandy makers set up booths in the major towns for free or very cheap tastings.  A good time is had by all, and the weather is usually gorgeous.  At this year's wine day we bought nine bottles of wine and three bottles of brandy/calvados.

Down To The Tail

This is the end of the convoy.  You can tell from the unfinished walls that, in 2013, the museum was still under construction.  If you're at all into WWII European theater military vehicles, though, this should be on your list to visit.

Geografico

This restaurant has been around for over a year, but we've just never gone.  We ended up having Friday dinner here one week last month, and it was the most "Asian" food I've had in Chisinau.  Yay!   We will go back at some point to have the egg rolls and empanadas and other great appetizers.

Truly Turned

The page is finally turned and I'm on to the next one.  It feels good  to have accomplished something with this.  There's still another page and a half to go; three are done.

Ambulances To Airplanes

I have no idea why the airplanes are in the convoy, but I totally understand the ambulances.

Birthday Treats

My coworkers surprised me with donuts and beautiful begonias!  Donuts are really hard  to find here - no one knows how to make them!  These were pretty good.  They're from the only bagel maker in the country too.

Starting A Flower

The butterflies are coming along well and I've started a flower, too.  The lowest small butterfly is over halfway down the chart, so I've got a good start.
