They're Only Rooks

When I first spotted this line I hoped they were daleks.  Unfortunately, they were only chess pieces.  Still novel.

Yummy

Being a bit tired on our first day in Krakow we decided to go with the familiar.  After getting stowed away in the apartment, we wandered down to the main market square and had lunch at Yummy.  Even if the chicken wings looked funny, everything tasted good.

Adding The Sky

I added a lot more sky this time.

On The Vistula

Wawel Castle is right on the river.  When we left the castle on the walking tour, we went down to look at it.  They've turned it into a very nice park area.  Also, from the castle parapet, you can see the hills on the other side.

Still Banding

Still working on the bands then starting the next big leaf.  The leaf's got the edge backstitched and is ready to fill in.

Photos Can Be Deceiving

My set of photos here are of the same apartment as the one on booking.com here.  You can see the similarities, but the rental company deliberately photographed the apartment to hide several flaws, including the fact that the bedrooms interconnected and that the sitting room was also the kitchen.  The breakfast nook is so small you can't even get into it with the kitchen table there.  We were sorely disappointed with our apartment in Krakow because of the deliberate misleading.  It was accomplished by very careful camera placement and the use of a fisheye lense.  Be careful when you book!  I'm sure other landlords use the same tricks.

Little Bit Of Castle

The Krakow walking  tour ends at Castle Wawel.  As we had a private tour the next day, we didn't take many photos.  The panorama at the bottom of the post is of the main courtyard.
