Main Drag, Nowa Huta

When we got to Nowa Huta, the communist paradise, it was cold!  The wind was brisk, too.  You can see the very soviet broad boulevards and the main buildings of the village.  Everything was built by the residents.  Housing was very short in Poland after the Second World War, and people came from all over for the chance at an apartment.  The two ceiling photos are of a shop that was built as a showpiece.  The last photo is of the steelworks that still employs people of the area, if only a tenth of the number that was employed in communist times.

Two In A Week

My Needle Arts finally came about three weeks ago, so I was able to finish my band sampler.  I think it came out pretty well.  It's less than ten inches long.  Now I need to see who else finished it.

All Checkered Up

Yay, I finished another older crazy January start.  I am slowly whittling away at the old ones as I add new ones this month.  The piece was pretty easy to do, especially once I started doing it daily.  Andreas wants it framed, so some day soon it'll go to MolDeco.

Books From Cluj

We found a great little stationery shop in Cluj about a block from our apartment.  I bought my new 2015 agenda and one for 2016, too.  I like the bright colors and have already started using the stripy one.

It's A Trabie

While in Krakow we decided to take a tour of the area specially built as a "communist paradise" just outside of town.  This Trabie was our transportation.  We managed to fit four full sized adults into it.  Barely.

Leaf It Alone

My lone fully done leaf won't be all by itself for long.  The second one is started around the edges.

Second Sprig

The second sprig is well along.  It's time, maybe, to start some backstitching.
