Communist Kitchen

This is all decked out as it would have been in communist times.

Crazy January Start #2: Cute Mushrooms

I changed out the fabric on this Russian kit, since the original was aida cloth.  So far, it doesn't look like much.

Cookies!

Evidently Hungary's Christmas cookie market isn't as advanced as Germany, France, and Austria's.  I found these and they're pretty, but they don't have nearly as many kinds.

Currency

These are photos from inside the apartment they've left in communist era decor.  They are of various forms of currency.  Yes, toilet paper was in shortage and became a form of currency.

Crazy January #1: Old Country

This is the beginning of Jim Wurth's Old Country, one of the dodecagon ornament series.  It's a bit different from the ones I've done so far in that the edge smyrna stitches are done in two metallic threads.

Pretty Candles

I found these candles at the Christmas market in Budapest.  Not only are they pretty, they smell nice and are made of beeswax.

Easy To Work On

I got to see under the hood of the Trabie.  Look how much room there is to work, and how simple it is.  This is why people liked these cars.  They might break down, but they're easy to fix.
