Fanconi Fail

Sometimes, despite the lovely food and presentation, the atmosphere can totally turn you off a restaurant.  Such was our problem with Fanconi, located next to the circus in Chisinau.  As you can see, the food is gorgeous and they even have Italian prosecco.  The problems?  The menus are -only- in Russian.  At least there are photos, but still.  They are also located on a very busy street and we arrived just after rush hour on a weekday.  A bus stop is right in front of the restaurant.  The noise makes it very hard to have a conversation with your table companions.  Other than that, it was a delightful place.  Perhaps, if you go, you should be seated indoors.

Little Castle Framed

The castle looks cute in this frame!  One more piece completed.

Managed Some Filling

I got some bits and pieces of filling done on the flight from Frankfurt.  We also will be going on a long flight next month.  I hope to have more filling done then.  It's coming along, just a bit more slowly than I'd like.

Oliva in Balti

We met with some friends in Balti before touring Barza Alba.  The lunch place of choice was Oliva.  It had the same menu as the ones in Chisinau, but the restaurant was in a spiffy circular building.

Thank You Dawn And Kerry!

Dawn and Kerry gave us very thoughtful and wondrous parting gifts - gift certificates to some of our favorite things in Fort Worth.  We've already started using some and will be keeping them informed as we use them!

Rules Done

My rules are done!  It really didn't take as much time as I thought.  Now I have a framing conundrum.

Back To Smokehouse

We got back from Odessa and went immediately to Smokehouse for dinner.  Andreas and I split nachos as he drank an Arnold Palmer and I had a margarita.
