On To Esperanza's

Esperanza's is owned by the same family that owns Joe T. Garcia's.  It's got more selection, is smaller, and is more truly Mexican.  We at lunch there with Erin and Theresa, and it was great.  Nachos are truly cheesy.  Tostada, above, is huge and fresh.  And the tortilla soup (minus avocado, bottom) was flavorful and filling.

Introducing Erin To Ol' South

You're always hungry and tired when you take the six in the morning flight.  Luckily, when Erin did this, we knew where to take her from the airport - to Ol' South.  She had New Orleans eggs benedict; I had my usual dutch baby, and Andreas had a real breakfast.  All was good and balance was restored to the worl.d

Starting The Drops

When I work on this, it goes so fast.  Unfortunately, my time the past couple of months has been so constrained that I haven't been able to work on it much.  I've got the drops on top started though!  It's almost a third done.

Good Drink, Meh Food

We went to Rio Mambo, a chain restaurant, on the recommendation of Dawn, who said I had to have the margarita.  The margarita was great - the food, not so much.  My margarita had a small bottle of champagne in it!  It tasted really good, too.  The queso was bland, as was the rest of the food.  It was like going to Taco Cabana, except not as fresh.  Next time we go either for drinks only or just don't go.

More Airplane Stitching

While flying from Fort Worth to Washington, I got some more of the filling done.  Maybe I'll have this done by the end of the year.

Not Quite Done

It's been a rough month and my stitching time has suffered.  I am almost but not quite done with September.

Back To Breakfast

We got to do Ol' South again with Mom.  She and I shared their dutch baby sampler while Andreas had waffles and hash.  Needless to say, bacon was mandatory.
