Dinner at 953

First dinner with Mom after she arrived in Fort Lauderdale.  The restaurants at the Hilton were not very good, so we went next door to the Ritz? Anyway, the food was delicious and Mom was fascinated by the jellyfish tank.  The service was great, too.

Parade Gets Ragged

Most of the parade groups are actually "combat" groups competing for points in the all Europe year long competition.  The parade, though, as you can see from the photos, starts getting really ragged toward the middle.

Fleshing Out

This piece is beginning to take shape well, I think.  The leaves look like leaves and the bottle's neck looks real, too.

Deli In Fort Lauderdale

When Mom arrived in Fort Lauderdale, so we stopped by this diner by the airport.  The food was food, and Andreas and Mom both enjoyed reubens.  Mine was a pizza burger.

Back To The Parade

And here's more parade.  Like a lot of local parades, it had a lot of starts and stops and what are we doing now? momemts, but it went off fairly well.

Working Both Sides

I am finally done with enough on the left enough to go back to the right a bit.  Still only brown, though.   I sigh but haven't given up yet.

Indian In Angola

Luanda has a restaurant week every October.  We weren't able to take advantage of it but once, and went to Andy's, which is an Indian restaurant.  A large group of us went for lunch.  At first, because we did not have reservations, they didn't want to let us in.  Once the owner realized what happened in his half empty restaurant, he berated his waiters and let us in.
The food was very good, and it was mainly served in these beautiful copper pots.  Prix fixe for the whole meal was about $8 each at the unofficial rate.  We like this restaurant but rarely go because there's no secured parking.
