Stereotypical Africa

When Americans think of Africa, this is the kind of landscape they think about, minus the wildlife.  Angola is low on wildlife.  Anyway, there are baobab trees and litter on the side of this stretch of road on the way to town.

Nearly Two

Nearly two of the five of these are done, and it's nice to have a not-quite-so-dense pattern for once.

Marine Ball Mugs

These were the swag from this year's Marine Ball.  I swear they look better without the carpet in back of them.

Bridging Back

On the way back from the beach I decided to go wild with the camera from the car.  I took random photos almost all the way back home to see what I would see later.  This is the approach to the bridge back to town and going over it again.  I still wonder how it's not broken...

Facing On

My little owl has a lot more face now, and a bit of a chest.

At Doce Mar

This is Doce Mar at Cabo Ledo, about an hour and a half south of Luanda.  They have infrastructure, though how they got it down the rutted dirt path to the place, I have no idea.  There's a hotel, a restaurant, and cabanas to rent.  The day was cloudy, but we saw lots of tiny crabs on the beach darting around.

Starting Anew

I've begun an afghan for a friend.  I need to make 108 of these peacock feathers.
