More Fences, More Poverty, More Irony

These photos are all variations on themes I've hit on before in this series of posts.  It's sad.

At The Works

Of course we learned about the whole process of making whiskey and went through the factory and warehouse areas... they were interesting, too!  I especially loved some areas we weren't able to take photos, like the still pots.

Encolumning

It's time to work more on the columns.  There are giant gargoyles in the near future.

Everything Behind Fences

Everything here is fenced off.  If it's not fenced off, its owner doesn't value it.  From what I understand, property law is, to put it mildly, "fluid."  So all the fences are a way of claiming things.  I just wish they could at least have prettier fences.

I also wonder about the tunnel to the second floor below.  Is it an escape route?

Our Classroom

Yes, I'm a nerd.  I was enchanted by the room Glengoyne uses as a classroom.  It just gives me warm fuzzies with the whole quasi-science lab vibe.  I had a great time in it, even before the class started.  Look at the mock ups of the still pots and stirrers!  Aren't they beautiful?  And sample bottles and jars ... heaven.  Plus just plain room to spread out.  I miss that kind of room.  I don't have it at home.

Working On The Middle Road

Two more rectangles done, and I truly love the one that looks like it's been quilted.  Working away somewhat diligently!

Irony

The sign says not to throw trash on the side of the road.  It's obviously followed.  At least it's not as bad as some places, where the sign poles are covered in litter.
