This is pretty much downtown Luanda. As you can see, it's sparkling and beautiful. Not. A -lot- of people live within the downtown area of the city; there are many deteriorating apartment buildings. Many even have raw sewage running out.
There's a hospital we pass after the construction and gas station, and an always-busy gas station. You can fill up your tank for under $10. The hospital, by the way, is the military one, and publicly funded.
This was my start with crazy January. It's for Andreas, and although it looks like cattle horns, it's the top of an owl's head. I'm doing it on tiny count and hoping I have enough thread.
