Shwarma In India

So, um, yeah.  Shwarma in a fancy hotel in Mumbai is not as good as I had hope it would be after missing shwarma for so long.  It was okay, but not spectacular.  

View From Taj

This is the view from the top of Taj tower where we at lunch.  Actually, part of the view.  You can see the naval yard and how green Mumbai actually is.  

Ocean-y Waves

The colors I've chosen make this look like a churning green gyre.

Lebanese Tapas

At the top of the Taj Palace tower is a Lebanese restaurant.  It's got a great view of Mumbai.  The tapas, all Lebanese, are okay, but not spectacular.

Gate And Taj

Ended up taking some photos of the Gateway of India and, right across from it, the Taj Palace hotel, as I wanted for my lunch companion.   I also ended up swarmed by a group of Chinese women to have my photo taken with them... weird experience.

 

 

Pali Bhavan

A photo of my very first Singapore Sling!  I have to say it was okay, but I'm unimpressed.  Went to this restaurant with several people and we were served family style.  As you can see, the plates were great and mismatched.  The decor is equally eclectic.  There is no sign outside.  We had to go past a man on a ladder in the foyer to get in to the restaurant.  The rest is mix and match Victorian and bamboo.  The food was excellent - all Indian, of course, but not exceedingly spicy.  You could actually taste it.  The sauces were creamy and thick, and the rice was plentiful.
