After being discharged from the hospital, I was booked into the Melia White House hotel, about six blocks away from the hospital. I couldn't leave for another six days, because one of the doctors didn't clear me to fly yet. Horrors. Six days in London, hotel paid for and on meals and incidentals, too. This is some of the tapas selection from the daily evening treat for premium guests. I was a premium guest because the embassy has a deal with the hotel to have all of us booked by them as premium. Nice perq. Food was pretty good, but it leaned heavily toward seafood.

Macedonian Village
This place is like a lot of eco resorts you find in eastern Europe, except possibly bigger and none of the staff lives there. It's a hotel with over a hundred rooms, a few restaurants, a great view, and some craftspeople. Locals use it as a place to hold wedding receptions. It's a nice place to be, actually.
