cozyblue June

Not too sure about the eye in the middle, but the rest of the design looks neat. I will be starting more of these soon. For now, I am finishing up some other things as I move.

Ground Hasn't Changed

The basic topography of the Cannae area hasn't changed in the past couple of thousand years. You can see how the battle went from the way the ground is currently laid out. The Romans had the high ground on the bluff above the river - but it didn't help. The locals weren't too fond of them either.

Early Cycladic Period

So it turns out Greece had two flourishings. The first is with Crete and the Cycladic islands. They had their own literature and alphabet, with libraries and such. Then Greece declined and lost its literacy. These are all from the first Greek civilization. It's strange to realize a culture can lose literacy after gaining it.

Some More Spots

This middle frog has a lot of spots. And I am outlining all of them. There are a lot of grumpy frogs in this piece.

Pulled From The Depths

When I went back to Pristina to pack out, I didn't bring any of my stitching with me. After all, I could transport more to Warsaw and I had plenty left in Pristina. So this is one of the pieces I dragged out of my WIP stash to work on. Maybe I'll get more of it done.

Restarting

I had to restart this because I was using the wrong color for the border. I think. Anyway, it's now restarted and farther along than the original bit. It got taken along on my trip to Warsaw, so it's been on the spinner.

Consular Gift

This is what my section gave me as a going away present. Isn't it beautiful? I had been looking for a piece like this to hang in the house in Warsaw for Leonora to not get homesick. To make it extra special, everyone signed on the back. I miss my peeps.
