Autumnal Stitching
It's the beginning of fall here, and Chilly Winds fits right in. My piece is coming along pretty well for only being taken out of my purse sporadically.

Back from Beading
Yay, my basically beaded round robin block is back home! Thank you, ladies, for making it so beautiful!

Temari for Connie
Connie in Hawaii was one of the winners of my One World, One Heart temari prizes. It took me a bit longer than I had hoped, but I did make a temari for her in her chosen colors. It's on its way to Hawaii as I write.

A Little Project
Sticklounge has a quick project going on - three weeks, three parts, and suitable for an ornament. Here's my picture with the first two parts done.
Pins Found
When we bought the keys, we also found these pins. The ship is very pretty filigree, and the bar pin just has some cute fake opals. I know I can find uses for them.

A Bit Odd
Well, I started this last year with Sticklounge, then got busy finishing up a couple of other projects. This one languished. It's done in a floss that is no longer available, so I will work on it a bit more, squaring it up, and then declare it done.

Keys!
We were in Cuidad Vieja last Saturday and strolled through the market in Plaza Matriz. Found some keys and bought a few, along with some tokens from early last century. Now to decide who gets to use them in projects...

Red Tentacles
Sometimes I think a designer puts stuff in to teach a new technique. I ran into that very thing with this on my last stitching session. There are two kinds of tentacles on the second jellyfish from the left. The first is whipped outline stitch, and the second is couched wire. The wire was superfluous, I believe. It was a pain to work with and did not add much dimensionality at all. Anyway, it's done now! On to working on the next jellyfish for a bit.

Simple Shells
I haven't decided if I'm going to use these bracelets as jewelry or as embellishments. Bought them on Punta Ballena. They're pretty.

Still Have Willpower
I've still managed not to start the fourth rectangle. Who knows if I'll be able to hold on until this one's done, though. After all, I'm -so close- to being completely done.
Skinny Scarf
We did a couple of car trips while my son was here, and so I brought something to do in the car. This is the result! I finished a skinny scarf. The pattern was from a book a friend gave me for my birthday (Thank you Melina!) and it worked up quickly once I sat and did it. The colors are brighter than show up here, and it's something I'll wear once the weather gets more chilly.

Two Thirds
Another whole row of sections done! I'm putting this away to work on something else for a section or two and then coming back to it. I do have the next two of the last three parts in my inbox, though.
Couple More Rows
Still working on the first page, but you can see I'm getting within twenty rows of the bottom of the page.

Got Into Gears
I finished working on Colleen's steampunk block this past week. This first picture is how it came to me. It's heavy with all the metal on it, but... I made it heavier.
Here's a picture of the whole block after what I did. I added a couple of seams, a gear trail, some seashells, and a piece of Uruguayan history. The yellow badge is from the local electric company and was used to mark electric meters.

No Longer Unfinished
Once I got in gear and got back to this, it only took a few sessions to finish. Now I have one less UFO! For information's sake, it's Cassatt by Kick Back and Stitch. The colors were special via Fireside Stitchery.

Collided
I've been feeling rather like I'm behind on everything, so finishing this gave me a small boost. I finally got the metallic thread I was waiting for and it took me less than an hour total. All done! Thank you Tam for a cute design.
Squishified
I won the January Challenge in the Crazy Quilting International group and my prize came a couple of weeks ago. All these things photographed fit into one sandwich-sized ziploc! Thank you!

My Seams Are Done!
I got my seams only blocks back! I'm so excited about how beautiful they look. Thank you so much, ladies, for your exquisite work. I need to do up the last one and then make them all into a wondrous wall hanging!

Another Initial
The initials on this square were pretty blocky when I got it, so I decided to add some curves. One more set of initials, a lace motif, and a couple of seams later, the results are below. It's already with the next person to work on it.

Take a Step to the Right...
Still working on the Quaker Star as my second Sticklounge daily project. It's coming along, but I'm feeling bogged down nonetheless. Definitely more than halfway now!

Little More Glitz
Although I put in about three lengths of floss, the only part that truly shows up is the braid on the lower right.

Another Dinner Out
A couple of weeks ago we had dinner out at Terracotta, a rather nice and not too pricey restaurant a few blocks away. I had the chicken brochettes with dried tomatoes and leeks (opposite), and Andreas had the Kassler ( a smoked pork chop), pictured below. Both were good, but the Kassler was a bit too salty.

All Waved Out
I'm finished with the waves. Now I can concentrate on finishing off the jellyfish. The far left one is the only one complete.

Enchaining Hearts
Almost another diagonal row done. Slowly getting there on this one. It's hard for me to keep going every day on it. I feel so bogged down in the individual squares.

All Wined Out
Here's a picture of Wine a Bit all stitched up. I'm mailing it to Betsy to either frame for her kitchen or to make into a wine bottle bag for the dining room. It came out pretty well!
Another Block for Ritva
This is the last of my work on the seams only round robin. Ritva picked autumnal colors, so I tried to keep the trend in what I did to her block.

Tronar de Tambores
This group was obviously lavishly funded in its productions and parades. Unfortunately, that extra funding did not translate into a good performance at Teatro Verano. The dancers were exceedingly lackluster (perhaps because they had so many costume changes) and the drumming was ho hum. Even the singing was flat. Last year, they won. If they do this year, it's only out of sentiment. C1080 is much, much better.
