Frogging Again

I had to do some frogging on this small band this week - I'd made one of the motifs wrong, consistently. On the other hand, it's done now and you'll see the picture next week. In fact, I've started the next band, so progress is being made! Now to get it moving along more, although this is a likely candidate to be put aside for the Christmas ornament blitz.

Band's Done

I finished this really dense band this week, with no more frogging. Go me! Now to do the flip of the little line of bird above it and on to the next one. I'm looking at my rotation list and going ... geez, I'm not going to finish any of these things soon. They're all too big. Dazzle will probably be the next finished. I have completed two things this week - they'll be in separate entries.

Not Quite There

I actually finished this thick band after the picture was taken. I feel a bit bogged down on this project and it's not really exciting me at the moment. I think it's just because I'm tired of that band. Maybe when I do the next, things will perk up.

Dense Blackwork

Looking at this picture, I realize how very dense this particular band is. There's just so much that nearly everwhere is covered. No where for the eye to rest. Haven't gotten to work on it since I went to seminar; I'll probably be able to today. Perhaps I'll learn not to tackle so many big projects at the same time.

No Dessert for Me

It's slowly getting done. For some reason, this band is tedious to me. Possibly because I had to frog quite a bit a couple of weeks ago. I do like the way it looks, though. Since this picture was taken, all the left half of the band is done and the right half started on.

Tiramisu Back to Front

Last week, my husband accidentally took the picture of Tiramisu from the back. Here it is with this week's front picture. I've slacked some on the reversible blackwork, since I'm no longer under pressure to turn this in for evaluation, but it's still looking pretty good on the back. About halfway done, now, with band four after some serious frogging from having one flower one stitch off...

Starting at an Angle

The line below the upper border of this band is in green. It looks like that will be the only bit of green, along with its mirror image, in this band. I'm using the Egyptian Lapis for everything but the flowers, where I'm using the Needle Necessities floss. It's coming along some - maybe not quickly, but I'll get this done.

Bordering on Four

I finished off the top border of Band four. It turned out pretty well, I think. Since this picture on Friday, I've started the twining part of the band. I've decided to use the Egyptian Lapis blue as the main color, with some of the leaves in green and the flowers in the same color as the border.

Band Three Done

As you can see, I finished band three this week and started on band four. Band four's huge, and I haven't quite decided on what threads to use where, but I'll get there. Since taking this picture, I finished the upper border of band four, which you'll see in its next picture. Since getting back, I've really increased the pace of my stitching. Now to see if I can keep it up!

Tiramisu Progress

I'm getting really really close to finishing this band. I doubt I'll be able to work on it until next week, though. Soon.

Third Band Takes Shape

The third band is almost done, as this picture shows. It's a rather large one, considering. I think the next one is smaller. I''m definitely not going to have this done in time to turn in for evaluation, so I'm afraid I've lapsed slightly and let the back of the piece get a little less perfect. My husband will be framing it so the back doesn't show anyway. I do like my color choices and will probably add one or two more colors in blue or green as I go.

Toiling on Tiramisu

I titled this more for the alliteration than the feeling of having to work hard on this piece. I think it's coming along nicely. Worked on it yesterday while my husband and son were at LeMans for the day. I'm getting more used to thinking of things in the reversible way, though the variegated thread makes it much harder when I use it. Everything has to be short! For that reason, it's much better for areas where you can work in branching motifs and then move on a bit.

Added Color

So you can see I added some green to the third band. It's soy silk, same as the other solid color. I think it's looking good. Of course, I'm getting all stressed about traveling tonight, and haven't done much stitching at all this past week.

Tiramisu Back and Front

My husband accidentally took a picture of the back this time before being corrected. I guess that means I'm doing all right on the reversible aspect. In the next posting, you'll see I added a third color in this band, and still haven't finished with it. I've decided now to just concentrate on getting a few things done before the trip. Hopefully I can do it! And yes, I'm sorry about not posting yesterday. I am visiting a friend's house and ended up just not posting yesterday. You got two posts today, though!

Second Band Done

The second band of Tiramisus done. Next band is BIG, so it's going to take me a while to do it. I'm pleased by the progress. Still don't know why my husband's camera is showing this so yellow. I'm debating adding more than these two colors to the design right now. Maybe some green?

Tiramisu Second Band Started

I don't know why, but this picture turned out really yellow compared to the original. As you see, the second band is almost half done, and is done in two threads - the soy silk, which I've found has a tendency to fuzz more than I like, and the Needle Necessities overdyed blue. The overdyed is much harder to do longer lengths of double running stitch over - the colors don't match up well. I'm learning something doing this, at least, and it's pretty.

Tiramisu Band One

This picture shows the first band almost done - another sailor needed to be added to the right side. It's done now and Band 2 is started and about halfway done - picture to be taken tonight, along with everything else. The backside doesn't look quite as nice as the front, mainly because of the starting and ending of threads, but it's still pretty reversible. My kids and husband think that's neat. I'm sure I won't get this all done in time for the review, but I'm going to turn in what I have done when it's time.

New Start - Tiramisu GCC

I'm so behind! I think this is due in two months and I'm just starting it. It's a relatively new correspondence course called Tiramisu and I'm taking it through the Cyberstitchers Chapter of the EGA. I've decided to try out the soy luster, since I was given some as a gift. The color shown in this picture is Egyptian Lapis. I'll be using a Needle Necessities overdyed, too. Fabric is 32 count Meditation from Picture This Plus. Hopefully, it'll all mesh together well. The floss toss looks good, and the stitching is turning out okay, even if I did have to rip out the beginning of the second sea monster - I put it two stitches too far from the first. That's done now and the first band is actually almost done! The piece is all reversible blackwork. I'm not having too much trouble with it yet, but I haven't used the overdyed yet.
