Moldovan Textiles

These pictures were taken last summer at the Moldovan National Museum.  Andreas just now processed the pictures so I could show them to you, though.  All pieces here have been hand embroidered or crocheted by Moldovans and are exquisite pieces of art.

That vest!! Is the embroidery done on the backside of a pelt? Looks like it but seems like a lot of stitching pretty close together for leather. Or? And was there any clue as to whether it's and old or new piece?

In any case, I'd have been standing in front of that one for a long while...inspiring indeed.
