Deceitful Beads
Don't you just hate it when companies mislead you? We were misled when we bought these two boxes of beads. Same manufacturer, just different color combinations. The one on the left is how we bought them. The one on the right is after unwrapping. I'm sure the amount of beads advertised was correct and such, but from the packaging, you expect the little boxes to run to the middle. Nope, you can see how they went. So while we'll use the beads, I doubt we'll buy from this company again.

Diane's Blue Block
Straight from light to dark on the beaded blocks. Diane's block is all blue-y. There were seams on it done, beautiful ones. too!
I thought it needed a focal point and I had this lovely metallic feather, so I put it smack dab in the middle. I also added a beaded wheel and some seamwork. I hope Diane likes it.

More Punta del Este Pictures
There's a lighthouse on the island a couple miles from the shore. Here's a picture, with a seagull mimicing it.
Some surfing pictures.

the shore. It looks like it once was a metal fishing boat.
Punta del Este is the shore part of the town of Maldonado. We went there, and this is a picture of the church on the main square in the background, and an old military base in the foreground.
Inside the military barracks was a display of the founders of the countries of the Americas. Even George Washington was represented!

Rita's Asian Block
And here it is after I worked on it. Since it was already so full, I concentrated mainly on seams. There were more of them to do than otherwise. I hope she likes it.

Very Early Spring Beach
Back at the end of September we took a trip to Punta del Este, the tourist spot of Uruguay. Already there were people out in the sun and on the beach sunbathing. There was a stiff wind and it was in the sixties. Far too cold for me to not wear a sweater!
There is an island close by where the sea lions live. Here's a shot of it from the beach. This is where the sea lions come for their meals - the fishermen throw their waste overboard.
Some of the major hotels and apartment towers from the point part of the beach. These are on the river side of the point. There's a noticeable change in the water color between the river and the ocean, and it's right around the point.
We saw these wildflowers on the shoreline. They're low growing succulents, and I have no idea what they're called, but they're really pretty!
