Found at Last

I've been wanting a cow fur purse well... since before I got here.  Andreas was pretty adamant in his "no" because he hates them, but eventually I wore him down to a position of "Okay, one.  But I have to approve it so it's not too ugly."  We've been searching for three months or so now, and finally I spotted the perfect one at a leather stall in Parque Rodo on Sunday.  It's mine now!  Rather a classic design and not overly loud.  I like it.

Starting Early

So, the playground is to make Betsy cringe.  It's pretty bad, safety-wise.  The next shot is of some of the shops about, and the rest of the series is a little girl on a mechanial bull.  They start early here.  You can rent them for birthday parties...

A Stripe

One more stripe done!

Cafeteria

An Uruguayo way to hold the cinnamon and chocolate for the cortado...

Horses....

If you can, get a look at the saddles on these horses.  They're far different from the ones used in the States - Western or English.  They pil blankets on top of the horse's back, then put the saddle on, then more blankets.  The saddle's fairly lightweight and adjusts in the middle to accommodate the horse 's spine.  I'd hate to ride it without the blankets, though.  More horses, more gaucho outfits in this go around.

Ricky's Star

So, what do you do when you've got to keep the dog from killing the movers while they pack your stuff?  Make temari!  I made this brown star one for Ricky and he already has it.  The variegated is a Valdani perle 8.  I think it came out pretty neat.

Easy Practice

Practicing my kiku skills as I teach to a new convert.  Picked colors out of my comfort zone, too!
