Pitted Again

A couple of weeks ago, we did Friday dinner at Pani Pit.  It was just as good the second time around, and they even had some live music.  I ha a chicken salad; Andreas had the mounded shop salad below.

I looked up and was fascinated by the painted ceiling beams, so I made Andreas take pictures.  They're not the best because they were done with my phone.

My dinner was beef in berry sauce.  It was huge and wonderful.  The veggies were so-so.  Berries in the sauce were more in the line of red ones -not many notes of blueberries or huckleberries.  Andreas had pork tocana with mamaligia.  He said it tasted excellent.

For dessert, I had the orange crepes.  They could have done with a bit more orange flavor, but were otherwise good.  Jennifer, one of our companions, had an equivalent of death by chocolate.  She and the guys all said it was excellent.  The cake was a flourless one with a chocolate sauce filling.

Half Done Is Well Begun

I am definitely over the halfway mark on this now, at least according to the chart.  The bottom half has a lot more stitches, so I think my progress will be slowed a bit.  I do like how this is turning out.

Bits Of This, Pieces Of That

I did little bits of different things this session.  Bits of sidewalk, tree, and house got done.

Another Round Done

The center of this piece is coming along nicely.  I've got one more round of the variegated threads to go before starting on the rest of the design.

Journey Of The Lost Temari

This lovely temari was in the mail for over eighteen months.  Much of that time was spent in a warehouse at the Moscow airport.  Can we say absolute mess up on the part of Turkish Air?  You can see the label that was added to the box it came in - the State Department added it when it put the package in diplomatic pouch.

The temari itself is from Linda W in Cyprus and is absolutely gorgeous.  It came through completely unharmed.  Thank you, Linda!  I'm sorry it got so lost in the mail!

Linked Chain

I
I've been making steady progress on this.  It's up through linked chain stitch, which I didn't like making and don't like the look of.  The palestrina stitch above it looks much better.  Just getting things done!
