Traditional Polish Food

This little restaurant was around the corner from our apartment.  As you can see, even though it was in downtown Krakow, it was rustic.  I started with a shot of Krupnik then had stew in a bread bowl.  Andreas had stew and spaetzle.  The food was okay; there wasn't much meat in either of the main courses, but the broth was good.  Andreas' potato soup was a bit watery, but that's the way they make it in eastern Europe.  The french fries were nice and crisp.

An Old Chapel

 The miners made many chapels in the mine.  This one is no longer used, but there is a photo of its former glory.  Most of the non-salt has been moved for preservation purposes.

Blue And Yellow

Lots of dark blue sky and the yellow of the largest butterfly getting put in.

All Xed Out

I have all the frame done on this.  Time to start filling in.

Flowers From Andreas

I made Andreas buy me some flowers from the market while we were in Poland.  They lasted the over a week we were there after he bought them.

Ropes And Barrels

 Lots of areas covered in salt, some safety equipment, and the barrels used as a cafeteria.  Miners had to bring their own food down with them.  Besides the white salt, many poles are painted white to reflect light and make the area brighter.

Quilt Square

This fifth Ukrainian egg design looks more like a quilt square than an egg.
