Much Nicer

After the miner's route, it's so easy to think the tourist route was never an actual mine.  It was, but it's also been a tourist area for nearly a century - including when the mine was functioning.  The wooden machines are so beautiful compared to the ones in the miner's route.  The walls, too, are kept in lovely condition.

Barring The Leaf

It's time to do the next big leaf.  I've started outlining it after covering some bars.

Adding Lines

This bit was only a little bit of work in the car since the previous update.  I managed to get two colors of the diamond design done before I gave up with the Romanian roads.

Meal With Mead

This is the meal we had with the mead from yesterday.  Our first item was bacon wrapped fried cheese.  Who could resist such a treat?  Not us!  Andreas and Yvette had hunter stew while I had pumpkin soup.  Theirs came in fancy bread bowls and was actually made with a rye based broth.  Both of them liked it.  It also came with sausages to cut up and put in.  We also split some pierogies and creamed mushrooms.  We all liked the mead so we decided to do a sampler set of it.  They had four different meads and we took sips of all of them to decide which we liked best.

Andreas was intrigued by the Hunter's Feast on the menu, so we decided to return later in the week for Yvette's birthday.

Down The Mine- Tourist Edition

The mine experience on the tourist route is very different from the miner's route.  You still have to go down a -lot- of stairs, though.  They're wider and more shallow.

This first antechamber is at the bottom of the stairs.  You can see it's been machine gouged with lots of salt visible.  There are mannequins and dioramas along with large signage.

The Last Egg

I really didn't like the looks of the seventh egg, so I went ahead and stitched a second version of the first one. I think it came out well.  There will be a charm in the middle when I put it together.  This means I'm done with all the Ukrainian egg ornaments!

Lines And Squares

I finished up the sixth of seven egg patterns.  This one is a bit yellow to me, though it's not as yellow in person.  It's also a really bold and graphic design.
