Out With The Tysons

Yay, Pegas now has glintwein!  There's nothing like glintwein to warm you up on a cold winter evening.  We were out with the Tysons there; I think Pegas has become their favorite restaurant.  There are a lot of pictures because there were many people eating.  I had zeama, another warming thing.  People here use it as a hangover cure.

Two people had spinach cream soup.  They loved it.  I'm not fond of that kind of soup, so I'll trust them.  We also had cheese and meat platters.  The dip on the cheese plate was cherry.

This photo looks like bacon, but it's duck breast with raspberry sauce.  Mashed potatoes below.

Steaks are always a good choice at Pegas.  And cappucino afterwards finishes off the meal, unless you're my husband who prefers "hot chocolate," which means heated up chocolate sauce.

Wine And Paint Night

The Community Liaison Office (CLO) organized a paint and drink night at a local art studio.  The subject of the night was cats. I hate cats. I drew a pear and painted it instead.  Didn't come out too bad, especially considering I haven't picked up a paintbrush in years.

Crazy January Start #24: Surf And Sand

I am slowly working my way through the double delights kits I got on subscription from Fireside Stitchery.  This one looks like it will come out beautifully.

About Ten

Only about ten more rows until I'm done with this red.  Got a little bit of a break this time working on the lighter colored accent in the background.  Now to just plow through...

Our Picks At Pegas

Pegas is one of those go-to consistent restaurants where service is good and the food is excellent.  Even though it's one of the more expensive restaurants in Moldova, that doesn't mean it''s expensive by American standards.  It's not unusual to walk out only $40 lighter for a meal for two including a bottle of wine.
I love Pegas' zeama, but their mushroom soup is excellent, and I've heard good things about their spinach soup, too.  Andreas swears by their rabbit alfredo, and I like their steaks.  The quality of beef in this country has improved significantly in the four years we've been here.

Found For Mom

I found this piece for my mother at one of  the embassy's artisan faires.  Have yet to mail it to her.

Still On The Boring

Well, I got at least one of these petals done.  The other is started, but is going to take a while because it's both boring and dense.
