Airline Food

This is what I was served in economy plus on my trip on United from Dulles to Brussels.  I don't think it had any flavor, and the presentation wasn't very good.  Yes, I know it's an airplane, but we deserve better!  I was very impressed with Air Namibia's food.  It was a hot meal on a two hour flight and tasted delicious.  I wish every airline worked as well as them.

Back To Jackals

Andreas had a lot of fun observing these cute little black backed jackals playing in the sand.

Over Half The Distance

I'm over half  the way done on this band.  Finally.

The Tasting Room

Our first dinner in Namibia, before heading out to Etosha, was at the Stellenbosch Tasting Room. The staff was wonderful, the champagne good, and the food excellent.  I had a hawaiian burger and Andreas had chicken.  He had a charcuterie board for starters, while I had carpaccio.  The carpaccio was the only thing I was disappointed in, as it wasn't a great cut of meat.  Other than that it was pretty perfect!

How Dry It Is

These photos show just how dry Etosha is most of the year.  There's no rainfall for ten months at a time.  It's why the water holes are so important to the fauna.  The dry, salty dust gets on everything and into your lungs.

It's July

Started this on the second, since I traveled on the first.  After only a couple days of stitching, it's well begun!

Dulles Airport Food

I got to the airport much earlier than I should have because I had to leave my housing and had a bunch of luggage.  Since I was at the airport for lunch, I stopped in at this place in terminal D.  Had a long island tea, some french onion soup, and a roast beef sandwich.  The wait staff was very nice but the food was blah.
