I've made quite a bit of progress on this. The burden stitch turned out better with the silk than with the metallic thread. I like it enough that I'll try to use it in another piece. I'm not sure I can finish the rest in the next twelve days before France, but I'm going to try.

I've asked Racaire (do you know Racaire, over in Austria?) to do a tutorial on the kind of pattern couching shown on the central leaf.
Of course, if you cared to document the method you used for this design I, for one, would greatly appreciate it! I've *seen* heaps of gold couched patterns but never *how* to do them!
